| Shannon Atnip |
| Youth Director |
|
Shannon and Scott work as a team both at home
and at Wesley. They met while singing in the SHSU Choir, began dating in 1999
and were married in 2005. They have been leading the Wesley youth group since
2004 and love working with youth as they grow in their faith and begin their
journey to become disciples ready to transform the world in the image of
Christ.
Scott is a 2001 Graduate of SHSU and 2003
Graduate of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT. A lifelong United
Methodist, he now works for the National organization of U.M. ARMY, a United
Methodist youth home repair mission organization and serves on the Board of
Directors of Junior High United Methodist Mission Project (JUMMP). He is also
an active leader in the UMC at the District and Conference level and was
recently elected to the 2012 Texas Annual Conference Delegation to General and
Jurisdictional Conferences. His passion for ministry is working with youth to
make a difference in the lives of others through missions.
But Shannon and Scott’s most important job is
spending time with their family. They were joined in 2007 by their pride and
joy, Emily and their lovable mutt Willie-Butch, a 70 pound lapdog.
Either Scott or Shannon would love to talk with
you about how you or your youth can become involved with the youth program at
Wesley!
